Are you selling pets? You might need a licence
The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (Wales) Regulations 2021 was introduced in Wales in September 2021 to ensure that anybody selling animals as pets for a profit has a licence and is adhering to the minimum animal welfare standards.
The diagram below is a quick guide to determine if you need a LAIA licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (Wales) Regulations 2021. Applications for a LAIA licence should be made to your local council. Information on how to apply will be available on your local council’s website.
